WWII Japanese issue Type 100/II Paratrooper 7.7 cal. bolt action rifle. The serial number of this rifle is 18XX, one of 500 manufactured at the Nagoya Arsenal. This is a very rare example that was captured during the battle of Iwo Jima. Very Nice piece in very good to fine condition. The bore is minty with strong rifling and shine. The serial numbers match on receiver,bolt handle and bolt parts. Assembly number "705" on front of receiver and both halves of the rifle on left side at take down feature. A real dandy!!! FULL MUM!!! Finish is 95%+. Wood is very nice on left side. Right side has "R. Case" carved into the wood. (probably the vet. that brought it back) Aircraft-Type rear sight with "wings". Correct cleaning rod. Super impressive example very hard to find in this condition with intact "MUM".
