Very rare rifle. 1 of 166 "Short Rifles" shipped during the production run of the Model 1876. In verygood condition this rifle is mostly a grey patina. No rust or damage to the rifle. The bore is dark with the rifling present. The bore should clean to a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has finish only in protected areas. The Brass Follower is unpolished with a nice marbles mustard patina. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect without any evidence of sanding.
