This rifle is referred to as a "short rifle" with a 22 inch barrel and 1/2 magazine. The finish is mostly an even patina. The bore is an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. This rifles action is tight smooth and mechanically perfect. The Lyman # 21 receiver sight functions perfectly. Nice shooter or "brush gun".
